Job Summary
Side by Side Behavioral Health LLC is seeking a dedicated, ethical, and compassionate Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) to provide direct Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) services to children diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and other developmental disabilities. The RBT is responsible for implementing individualized treatment protocols under the ongoing supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA), supporting skill acquisition, behavior reduction, communication, social development, independence, and generalization of learned skills.
The RBT plays a critical role in the clinical team by providing direct 1:1 or small group ABA therapy, collecting accurate treatment data, following behavior intervention plans with fidelity, maintaining professional communication, and ensuring services are delivered in accordance with BACB requirements, payer guidelines, company policies, HIPAA, and ethical standards.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Provide direct ABA therapy services to clients in clinic, school, community, and/or other approved settings as assigned.
Implement individualized skill acquisition programs, behavior intervention plans, and treatment protocols developed and supervised by the assigned BCBA or qualified supervisor.
Deliver services using evidence-based ABA procedures, including reinforcement, prompting, shaping, chaining, natural environment teaching, discrete trial teaching, functional communication training, and other behavior-analytic strategies as clinically appropriate.
Accurately collect, record, and enter data during each therapy session using CentralReach or other approved data collection systems.
Complete session notes and required documentation within the required timeframe and in accordance with Side by Side policies, payer requirements, and Medicaid/insurance documentation standards.
Follow proactive and reactive behavior strategies with consistency, professionalism, and clinical fidelity.
Support the reduction of maladaptive behaviors and the acquisition of socially significant replacement skills.
Assist clients in developing communication, adaptive living, social, play, academic readiness, and functional independence skills.
Promote generalization and maintenance of client skills across people, materials, environments, and routines.
Maintain client dignity, safety, privacy, and confidentiality at all times.
Communicate professionally and respectfully with clients, families, supervisors, coworkers, school personnel, and other members of the treatment team.
Follow the supervisory chain of command and seek clinical guidance when client behavior, safety concerns, treatment barriers, or protocol questions arise.
Participate in supervision sessions, competency checks, performance evaluations, clinical meetings, staff trainings, and required continuing education activities.
Implement feedback provided by the supervising BCBA, BCaBA, or designated clinical supervisor in a timely and professional manner.
Maintain active RBT certification in good standing with the Behavior Analyst Certification Board.
Comply with the RBT Ethics Code 2.0, HIPAA, company policies, Medicaid/insurance requirements, and all applicable federal, state, and local regulations.
Report incidents, injuries, environmental concerns, safety concerns, suspected abuse/neglect, and other required matters immediately in accordance with Side by Side policies and applicable reporting requirements.
Maintain a professional appearance, respectful conduct, and appropriate boundaries with clients, families, and coworkers.
Use company systems, communication platforms, and scheduling tools appropriately and in accordance with company expectations.
Perform other related duties as assigned by the supervising BCBA, Clinical Supervisor, Director of Operations, or company leadership.
Minimum Qualifications
Active Registered Behavior Technician credential in good standing with the Behavior Analyst Certification Board.
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Ability to pass required background screening and meet all applicable employment eligibility requirements.
Ability to work with children diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder and other developmental disabilities.
Ability to follow clinical protocols, collect accurate data, and implement feedback from supervisors.
Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
Ability to maintain professionalism during challenging situations, including when clients engage in high-intensity or unsafe behaviors.
Reliable attendance, punctuality, and ability to follow assigned schedules.
Ability to comply with HIPAA, ethical standards, documentation requirements, and company policies.
Preferred Qualifications
Prior experience providing ABA therapy services to children with Autism Spectrum Disorder.
Experience working in clinic, school, community, or structured therapeutic settings.
Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
Experience using CentralReach or similar ABA data collection platforms preferred.
Current CPR/First Aid certification preferred or willingness to obtain as required.
Physical Requirements
Ability to actively engage with children during therapy sessions, including sitting on the floor, standing, walking, running short distances when clinically necessary, bending, kneeling, lifting materials, and participating in play-based activities.
Ability to implement behavior intervention protocols that may require physical agility, active supervision, and rapid response to safety concerns.
Ability to lift or assist with materials and client-related items as required within safe and reasonable limits.
Ability to remain alert and attentive during the full duration of therapy sessions.
Work Environment
Services may be provided in a clinic, school, community, or other approved setting based on client needs and company assignments.
The RBT may work with clients who engage in challenging behaviors, including aggression, tantrums, elopement, property destruction, self-injurious behavior, noncompliance, or other behaviors requiring close supervision and consistent implementation of behavior intervention protocols.
The RBT is expected to maintain professionalism, client dignity, and safety at all times.
