At Bill Russell Ford Lincoln we are focused on creating a straightforward and responsive experience for our customers, both in-store and online. As a full-service Ford dealership in Iselin, NJ, our team supports customers at every stage of the vehicle buying and ownership process. A key part of that experience is our Business Development Center (BDC), which connects with customers early in their journey and helps guide them toward the right next steps.
We are currently hiring Business Development Consultants / Internet Sales team members to support our growing volume of inbound inquiries and digital leads. This role is well-suited for individuals who are organized, customer-focused, and comfortable communicating across phone, email, and online platforms. No prior automotive experience is required, and training is provided.
In this role, you will serve as a primary point of contact for customers reaching out through phone and online channels. The Business Development Center supports both the sales and service departments by managing inquiries, providing information, and coordinating appointments. This is not a traditional sales role and does not involve cold calling; instead, the focus is on responding to incoming leads, building rapport, and helping customers take the next step in the process.
Key responsibilities include:
- Greeting customers onsite at the dealership
- Handling inbound calls, internet inquiries, and follow-up communication
- Identifying customer needs and scheduling appointments for sales and service teams
- Placing outbound calls and emails to follow up with prospective and existing customers
- Providing accurate information related to vehicle availability, pricing, features, and appointment expectations
- Confirming upcoming appointments and ensuring customers are prepared for their visit
- Maintaining detailed and organized customer records within internal systems
- Supporting customer retention through consistent follow-up and communication
- Collaborating with sales associates, managers, and support staff to ensure a smooth customer experience
Qualifications:
- Background in customer service, sales support, or call center environments is helpful but not required
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Professional, organized, and detail-oriented approach
- Comfortable working with computers, CRM systems, and multi-channel communication
- Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and willingness to learn
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and follow up consistently
