The annual pay range for this position is $48,000 - $58,000.00. Actual offer will be based on skills, qualifications, experience and internal equity, in addition to relevant business considerations. We expect this position to be hired in the following target hiring range $48,000-$58,000.

Position Description
Reimagine Education, LLC is seeking an innovative Secondary Teacher for Secondary Social Studies. This position has primary responsibilities of monitoring students' academic progress in various Social Studies subjects and collaborating with other teachers to continue the development and documentation of the secondary MIPS Social Studies curriculum. This person will have the ability to work well with other teachers, staff, students, and parents while handling multiple tasks. This position will report directly to the MS/HS Principal.

Valid Michigan Teaching Certificate with RX or CX Endorsement

Strong understanding of evidence-based ESL interventions and strategies, with demonstrated experience in implementing and monitoring these within a school setting.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build partnerships and work effectively with students, families, staff, and external partners.

TESOL certification or equivalent preferred, along with a deep understanding of cultural integration challenges.

Strong organizational and data-driven decision-making skills to track student progress and program effectiveness.
Essential Duties
-
Develop and maintain a positive, productive rapport with parents/guardians, students, and all MIPS staff that leads to trusting relationships.

Effectively communicate with school administrators, teachers, other MIPS staff, parents and students using email, text messaging, phone, and video calls.

Monitor and support virtual students taking Social Studies courses
-
Provide large and small group instruction online
-
Provide large and small group instruction in person if needed

Develop and maintain an in-depth understanding of the Michigan K-12 Standards for Social Studies

Develop and document MIPS secondary Social Studies curriculum
-
Effectively and accurately implement Social Studies curriculum
-
Design and implement lesson plans that include interactive, purposeful assignments and activities according to students needs
-
Teach live lesson classes weekly, make asynchronous assignments for days that are not live lessons
-
Teacher of Record for students in asynchronous Learning Management System
-
Constantly monitor student academic performance to help them stay on track and successfully complete all courses on time
-
Appropriately modify curriculum, activities, and assignments when needed to meet individual student needs
-
Collaborate with other instructional staff on implementing effective Tier I Social Studies intervention
-
Works in conjunction with the Student Support Team (SST) and Special Education Department staff to assist in assessing and/or identifying students who require Tier II and III interventions.

Implements academic interventions using research-based methodology in Social Studies
-
Establish, maintain, and clearly communicate expectations and guidelines
-
Meet with parents, guardians, and home coaches to identify potential obstacles to improved achievement
-
Maintain a detailed historical record of communication and meetings with students, parents, guardians, and home coaches
-
Maintain a variety of confidential and non-confidential digital files and records
-
Proctor testing online and in person when needed
-
Assist with onboarding parents and students to learning in a virtual setting

Be informed of all policies and procedures

Carry out other duties and obligations as assigned to facilitate the school’s mission, goals, standards, and Education Program

Teacher must honor written Board Policies and Administrative Regulations

Teacher must be able to stand for a minimum of 30 minutes at a time
-
Teacher must be able to lift 25 lbs and be able to sit in chair for long intervals

Ability to lead a team dedicated to reviewing MTSS for students from diverse linguistic and cultural backgrounds, ensuring their academic success and smooth integration into the school community.
