Duties
- Design and deliver engaging science lessons aligned with curriculum standards, incorporating hands-on experiments and real-world applications
- Develop and implement curriculum plans that cater to diverse learning styles, including special education needs and early childhood education principles when applicable
- Utilize learning management systems (LMS) to organize coursework, assessments, and student progress tracking
- Incorporate learning technology tools to enhance instruction and facilitate interactive learning experiences
- Manage classroom behavior effectively through strong classroom management techniques and conflict resolution skills
- Assess student performance regularly through formative and summative evaluations, providing constructive feedback and academic advising as needed
- Collaborate with colleagues on instructional design, lesson planning, and school-wide initiatives to promote literacy education, math integration, and physical education components when relevant
- Support students with disabilities or special needs by adapting lessons and working closely with support staff to ensure inclusive education
- Engage in ongoing professional development related to teaching physical education, library services, Montessori methods, or other specialized areas as desired
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, Science Education, or a related field; teaching certification required for high school level
- Proven experience teaching science at the high school level or similar educational settings with classroom experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of science curriculum development, instructional design, and assessment strategies
- Familiarity with LMS platforms and learning technology tools for remote or hybrid instruction
- Experience working with students with disabilities or special education needs is highly desirable
- Excellent communication skills for effective instruction, student engagement, and collaboration with colleagues and parents
- Demonstrated ability in classroom management and behavior management techniques to foster a positive learning environment
- Knowledge of literacy education, math integration, early childhood development principles, and childcare practices is a plus
- Ability to adapt lessons for diverse learners including those in private school settings or preschool environments when applicable
