The Safety Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and continuously improving a comprehensive health, safety, and environmental (HSE) program to ensure regulatory compliance and promote a strong culture of safety across all company operations. This role oversees safety policies, training, audits, incident investigations, and corrective actions while collaborating with leadership, employees, and clients to mitigate risks, enhance workplace safety performance, and ensure adherence to OSHA and other applicable standards. Other responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Prepare and enforce policies to establish a culture of health and safety.
- Review and improve safety procedures and policies to better protect employees and clients.
- Manage safety audits, HSE program, and inspections.
- Oversee third-party contractor and supply chain risk management platforms (ISNetworld, Veriforce, etc.) as they relate to safety requirements.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory bodies and standards (including OSHA, EPA, etc.).
- Manage non-compliance and corrective action program.
- Develop, improve, and manage JSA, Behavior Based Safety (BBS), and related programs.
- Prepare and conduct initial safety training sessions for all new employees and renewal training for existing employees (including CPR, Defensive Driving, etc.).
- Assist with training of Short Service Employees (SSE).
- Work with the President, Directors and other Managers in daily routines.
- Recommend solutions to issues, improvement opportunities or new prevention measures.
- Visit job sites to conduct safety audits on personnel, equipment and materials (once per year per crew is required).
- Lead injury and incident investigations.
- Travel to job sites immediately following an incident to gather all facts as directed by management.
- Work closely with offsite medical contractors when injuries are reported.
- Analyze accident investigation reports and evaluate injury case studies based on available facts.
- Track incident metrics and apply findings.
- Generate company-wide Safety Alerts as necessary.
- Work with in-house personnel on the review of Master Service Agreements (MSA) as it relates to safety requirements.
- Assist as requested by HR with random and post incident testing.
- Manage DOT operator qualification program.
- Manage the MSDS program and ensure all field personnel have access at all times.
- Manage and oversee the vehicle program for maintenance intervals and repair authorizations.
- Manage and track all PPE issued to employees.
- Manage employee boot program.
- Attend client-sponsored Safety Meetings.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- A Bachelor’s degree in Safety Management or a related field is required.
- 5+ years’ experience working in construction, oil and gas, or a related field is required.
- Advanced understanding of health and safety, environmental and legal guidelines is required.
- Practical knowledge of data analysis and risk assessment techniques is required.
- Experience at an intermediate level in the following Microsoft applications: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook is required.
- Ability to effectively communicate, both verbally and in writing, with other individuals, teams, and customers in a business like and professional manner is required.

- Outstanding attention to detail and observation ability.
- Takes initiative and is proactive in addressing issues.
- Ability to juggle competing priorities, multi-task and change direction with a variety of workplace tasks.
- Ability to demonstrate conscientiousness, dependability and commitment to the role, team and company.
- A valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record is required.
- Travel < 25% of the time is required.
Pay: $70,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
