ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Installation and repair of millwork, cabinets, and furniture
- Installation, hanging, and repair of doors
- Ability to handle hand and power tools common to the carpentry trade
- Recognize hazards typical of the trade
- Estimate time and materials needed to complete a job
- Understand and follow oral and written communication
- Ability to use complex thinking to solve problems in an high-paced environment
- Perform skilled carpentry tasks in the repair, alteration, and construction of interior and exterior spaces
- Perform selective demolition at the project site and removal of refuse from the area
- Installation of metal framing, drywall, suspended ceiling systems, raised floor systems, architectural finishes, doors, locksets, and miscellaneous assemblies (as required)
- Cleanup of the work areas and maintaining the work areas free of clutter and debris
- Other duties as assigned by the manager/supervisor
EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIREMENTS
· Have at least 3 years of experience performing a variety of rough and finished carpentry work (or equivalent)
- Communicate professionally with customers and co-workers
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
· Ability to lift 50 lbs. unassisted
· Stand for long periods of time
· Use of your hands to handle, control, or feel objects, tools, or controls
· Physically fit with the ability to work in awkward spaces
· Alert, focused, and detail-oriented
· Ability to crouch, bend/twist, crawl, kneel and sit unassisted
· Climb ladders, scaffolds, or poles
OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
· Must own tools of the trade
· Must be able to pass a background check and drug screening
· Must have reliable transportation
· Must have a valid Hawaii Driver’s License
· Willingness to travel
· Must have a smart phone (required)
