Executive Assistant to the CEO
Berkeley, CA (Fully Onsite) Temp-to-Hire
Compensation: $45 to $50 per hour
Position Summary
The Executive Assistant will provide high-level executive and organizational support while helping coordinate board and committee operations, strategic initiatives, stakeholder engagement, and special projects. The successful candidate will anticipate needs, drive follow-through, leverage technology and AI tools, and serve as a trusted thought partner to leadership.
Key Responsibilities
Executive Support-
Serve as a strategic partner and trusted liaison to the CEO

Conduct research and prepare briefing materials, summaries, and presentations

Track priorities, action items, and key initiatives

Support executive meetings and leadership communications
-
Provide thoughtful insights and observations following meetings and events
-
Assist with special projects and organizational initiatives
Board & Committee Administration-
Coordinate board and committee meetings throughout the year
-
Prepare agendas, meeting materials, reports, and presentations
-
Communicate with board members, committee chairs, volunteers, and staff
-
Track deadlines, deliverables, and follow-up actions
-
Support board meeting logistics, onboarding, technology needs, and documentation
-
Ensure seamless execution of board and governance activities
Strategic Project Coordination-
Support major donor and endowment-related initiatives
-
Assist with community partnership and outreach efforts
-
Coordinate communications with external stakeholders and community leaders
-
Help manage special initiatives involving organizational growth and development
-
Facilitate cross-functional collaboration across departments and leadership teams
Stakeholder Relations-
Build strong relationships with executives, board members, donors, volunteers, and community partners

Serve as a professional and responsive point of contact

Navigate sensitive and confidential matters with discretion
-
Represent the CEO and organization with professionalism and maturity
Qualifications
Required-
5+ years of Executive Assistant experience supporting C-suite leadership

Exceptional organizational and project management skills
-
Strong written and verbal communication abilities

Advanced technology skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite

Comfortable adopting and leveraging AI tools to improve efficiency
-
Ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment
-
Proven ability to handle confidential information with discretion
-
Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
-
Executive presence with the ability to interact confidently across all levels of an organization
Preferred-
Experience supporting nonprofit executives, boards, or governance committees

Exposure to fundraising, donor relations, or community-based organizations

Experience managing board materials and committee processes

Bachelor's degree preferred
