This Production Associate role is responsible for receiving, manufacturing and shipping ingredients and Vita Plus products. Training will be provided!
Position requirements:
- Ability to alternate driving, sitting, walking, climbing, and standing
- Safely lift, carry and stack feed bags; frequently moving up to 60-pound bags and occasionally moving 55-pound bags up to shoulder height
- Climb and maintain balance on ladders, stairs and top of bulk trailers
- Forklift certification
What you will do:
- Follow the production schedule and maintain accurate records
- Accurately complete manufacturing processes to meet our quality standards such as:
- Receiving/inspecting bagged/bulk ingredients and finished products
- Micro room hand adds, FDA tracking and record keeping
- Mixing of bagged/bulk products
- Capturing product samples when bagging or bulk loading finished products
- Operating the pelleting system: boiler, die changes, product flow and quality
- Loading product on trailers to serve other Vita Plus locations or customers
- Receiving, drying, blending and shipping grain and manufactured feed
- Daily documentation and adherence to FDA and Safe Feed / Safe Food requirements
- Maintain inventory accuracy to minimize product shrink
- Friendly and courteous customer interaction
- Maintains the cleanliness of equipment and housekeeping in all areas
- Other duties as assigned by management
Working conditions:
- Environmental conditions: dust, inclement weather, manufacturing atmosphere
- Manufacturing/warehouse: product movement, storage and retrieval
- Uneven or slippery work surfaces with multiple work levels: ladders, stairs and ramps
- Standing for longer periods of time
