General Summary:
The CNC Supervisor is a hands-on manager that keeps an eye on the CNC Department. Acting as a link from the CNC Operators to the CNC Manager. Inspects parts ran by the operators, to ensure that the machined dimensions remain within tolerances according to the prints for the parts being ran. Keeps record of parts and maintenance being performed and coordinates with the CNC Manager to ensure that production and quality needs are being met.
Responsibilities:
· Review prints and orders to ensure that parts are being ran to specified Quality and tolerance needs.
· Maximizes efficiency by ensuring machines stay up and running, and tool and inserts are changed when required.
· Troubleshoots issues with machines or programs, to bring parts into conformance to print, and to keep machines running.
· Manages tool and die inventory to ensure they stay properly stocked to keep machines running smoothly and accurately.
· Constantly looking for ways to reduce “cycle time” to keep up with ever increasing customer demand.
· Lead Continuous Improvement projects.
· Oversees the use of precision measuring tools like micrometers, calipers, and Coordinated Measuring Machines to verify conformance to print specifications.
· Keeps record of tool and insert use, parts ran through the day, scrap and nonconformance, as well as finished jobs, and gives them to the CNC Manager for review and filing.
· Perform other duties, as required or assigned.
Working Environment:
· Working in areas with operating CNC Machinery, while supervising and helping maintain cleanliness and tolerance specification conformance.
· Often times exposed to hot temperatures, coolant, and machining dust and debris.
· High speed, high yield machine shop with loud machines constantly running.
· Personal Protective Equipment required. Hearing protection, eye protection, and safety toe shoes.
Desired Minimum Qualifications:
· High School Diploma, or GED required.
· Journeyman card holder preferred.
· 7+ years of CNC Machining experience, with 2+ CNC Shop Supervisory experience preferred.
· Proficiency in CNC code and language, with ability to modify and test changes safely required.
· Strong command of both Geometry and Trigonometry for calculating tool pathing and angles preferred.
· 2+ years of Experience setting up and operating CNC machines is required.
Pay: $30.00 - $31.00 per hour
