American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an ICU - Respiratory Care Unit position in Florida, requiring a minimum of 3 years of critical care experience with ventilator-dependent patients and trauma/neuro backgrounds.

Night shift schedule: 7p–7:30a (3x12-hour shifts)

Position is based in an ICU Respiratory Care Unit within a hospital setting
-
High-acuity stepdown unit caring for acute and chronically ill patients requiring ventilator support
-
Nurse-to-patient ratio is 3:1, with a maximum of 4:1 depending on staffing
-
Every other weekend (EOW) required

Floating required on an as-needed basis

Holiday coverage required on an as-needed basis

Uses Epic EMR (experience required)

13-week contract

Active FL or compact RN license currently in hand

Current certifications required (must be in hand): BLS and ACLS (both via AHA), and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)

Minimum 3 years of recent critical care experience with acute/chronically ill patients requiring ventilator support

Trauma and neuro experience required

Degree must be from an accredited school, or from a Florida Board of Nursing (FBON)-approved institution with at least 2 years of consecutive acute care experience within the past 24 months in a US hospital

Epic EMR experience required

Must successfully complete a Florida AHCA Level 2 background screening, including fingerprint-based state and federal criminal history checks, abuse registry review, and screening for disqualifying offenses

Must pass a Basic Arrhythmia/EKG assessment prior to starting

Travel pairs will not be considered

Preferred experience includes Charge RN, SICU, MICU, Trauma, and Stroke backgrounds

Proof of vaccination status is required — declinations are not accepted

Basic Arrhythmia assessment is pass/fail; candidates who do not score 100% on lethal rhythms must retake a dysrhythmia exam within 24 hours and pass with an overall Angoff score of 83% or higher, 100% on the lethal rhythm section, and 83% on all other sections
