The Delivery Driver Trainee will receive training to be able to achieve efficient and quality pick up,
relocation, delivery, installation and networking of office equipment in a safe manner. The Trainee will
be responsible for successful completion of the Delivery Driver Trainee program including proficiency in
equipment, technology, productivity and safety standards, including but not limited to:
- Completion of assigned Pro Tread Courses
- Meet driving standards including successful completion of Smith System Training, road test and safety compliance (i.e. hard brakes, accidents, driving violations, etc.)
- Display proficiency in phone usage (mobilelink, FMHH, DOT logs, Toner App, GPS)
- Display excellent customer interaction skills (pre-call, training on new device, networking,
- Internal/external customers
- Accurately complete pre/post trip inspections
- Successful completion of driver install program/training
- Loading and strapping proficiency
- Safety program involvement
Proficiency in use of delivery equipment (i.e. stairclimber, dolly, pallet jack, etc.)

Upon completion of the trainee program, the trainee will be able to meet all job duties and
responsibilities listed below:
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
· Ensures equipment is safely delivered to the correct location. · Maintains log books in accordance with DOT regulations (Electronic or manual) · Responsible for pre and post trip reviews and ensures that his/her vehicle van/truck is safe and clean to operate and is compliant with all DOT and state laws · Performing pick-up of product at same time as delivery, thus minimizing costs · Performs basic connected installations, such as the ability to setting up IP addresses, downloading print drivers, remove hard drivers when required, back-up and upload customer’s existing address book, and provide basic customer training on printing standalone and network devices · Participation in Safety Programs. · Pre-calling customers · Achieves expected productivity levels associated with assigned workload and level of experience · Demonstrates good technical skills · Demonstrates excellent customer relation skills. · Identifies customer's needs and determines appropriate action; refers calls to appropriate party.
Provides constructive feedback to service and process team regarding networking and installation initiatives · Provides basic customer training on printing standalone and network devices. · Completes technical training on new equipment as required · Maintain professional appearance in driver uniform · Contacts the Dispatch and/or service department if technician is needed. · Ensures equipment is configured to the Bill of Lading, traveler or other documentation provided. · Ensures equipment is properly loaded and secured in the boxed van/truck. · Use of phone to capture electronic customer signature upon completion of scheduled transactions. · Ensures all paperwork is signed and properly processed, as required. · Loading/ Off-loading trucks may apply. · Helps train new Delivery Drivers on new products & proper loading, where applicable. · Follows all accident/incident reporting guidelines and procedures · Conducts cycle counts and inventory reconciliation when required. · Reconcile inventory at the end of the day based on route completion and report discrepancies. · Meets appropriate productivity/quality standards relative to assigned job responsibility as outlined by manager. · Responsible for an inventory value of up to $1,000,000. · Overnight stays may be required. · Operation and use of warehouse equipment, i.e., forklift, stair climber, pallet jack, is required. · Performs other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS (Education, Experience and Certifications)
Required :
- Ability to drive a commercial vehicle according to FMCSR regulations.
- Valid and current DOT medical card is required
- Must maintain valid driver’s license in accordance with company policy.
- Minimum 6-12 months of medium-duty truck driving experience and/or other driving
experience is preferred.
- Successful completion of a pre-employment road test
- Be at least 20 years of age
- High school diploma or equivalent education is preferred.
- Ability to use maps and electronic GPS
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Must be able to physically handle oversized and overweight equipment.
- Identification of at-risk behaviors and have the ability to make quick corrections.
- Strong Customer service and Communication Skills.
Familiarity utilizing and learning smart phones and/or tablets with hand held electronic technology. · Basic computer skills. · Adequate technical skills to install/network equipment · Possesses methodical approach to resolving problems that could arise during their day. · Must have adequate reading, math skill, and ability to write legibly. · May be required to be certified on operation and use of warehouse equipment, i.e., forklift, stair climber, etc.*
WORKING CONDITIONS, MENTAL AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Working conditions could result in serious injuries if they don’t follow appropriate lifting or
moving procedures and/or the rules of the road.
- Frequent stooping, bending, squatting and kneeling are required to service equipment at floor
level
- Physical effort is required in the lifting of equipment weighing up to 100 pounds and the
moving of equipment that may weigh up to 1000lbs
- Work assignments are diversified. Interpret, comprehend and apply complex material, data
and instruction – prepare, provide and convey diversified information.
- Typically, a variety of conditions, including office, warehouse and van/truck environment with
adequate lighting and ventilation, and a normal range of temperature and noise level.
