Middletown Composites is a growing aerospace and defense composites manufacturer serving customers with demanding quality, performance, and traceability requirements. We are seeking a Quality Engineer to support and strengthen our quality systems while working closely with engineering, manufacturing, and customers.
This position is ideal for an early-career engineer who enjoys problem solving, manufacturing, quality systems, and technical analysis. The successful candidate will have strong technical aptitude, experience working with engineering drawings and 3D CAD models, and a desire to grow into a leadership role within the organization.
Responsibilities
- Support and maintain the AS9100 Quality Management System
- Lead and support root cause and corrective action investigations
- Review engineering drawings, specifications, and customer requirements
- Utilize 3D CAD models to support inspection planning and manufacturing processes
- Develop and maintain inspection plans, work instructions, and quality documentation
- Support First Article Inspections (FAI) and production inspections
- Analyze quality data and identify opportunities for process improvement
- Participate in internal audits and customer audits
- Interface with customers regarding quality concerns, corrective actions, and quality requirements
- Work closely with engineering and manufacturing teams to improve product quality and process consistency
- Support supplier quality activities as needed
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Engineering Technology, or a related technical field
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications
- Experience with SolidWorks or similar 3D CAD software
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
Preferred
- Internship or manufacturing experience
- Exposure to GD&T
- Experience with SolidWorks assemblies and technical drawings
- Familiarity with AS9100, ISO 9001, or aerospace manufacturing environments
- Experience with quality tools such as corrective action systems, root cause analysis, SPC, FMEA, or Lean Manufacturing

Pay Range: $60,000 - $70,000 per year
