The Norfolk Community Services Board (NCSB) provides treatment, support, and education to the community with a focus on mental illness, substance use addiction, and intellectual/developmental disabilities. Norfolk CSB provides services to persons in acute crisis as well as integrated, person-centered, and recovery-oriented programming for persons needing assistance and support stabilizing in the community.
Today, the NCSB provides treatment and rehabilitation services to over 6,000 Norfolk citizens yearly. The NCSB is seeking a Community Crisis Responder II that provide crisis and/or community stabilization related activities and services. Respond in person and/or by phone to requests for assistance with individuals experiencing behavioral health (mental health and/or addiction) crisis concerns; including persons with co-occurring health, developmental, and/or social vulnerabilities or crisis states. Serves both adults and children. Works with persons in pre-crisis, crisis, post-crisis, and stabilization points in their behavioral health condition. Works in a team environment. May provide training of others. Services are provided in the community and in CSB facilities. Coordinates services with licensed approving staff as needed. CCR II positions are able to provide most services independently, serve fully as the lead or 2nd person on a response team, and can perform services typical of community behavioral health support services.
Department Hiring Salary Range: $54,190-$62,185
Bachelor’s degree or Master’s degree in a qualified human services field
Considerable experience (3 or more years) in the behavioral health field working with individuals with childhood or adult behavioral conditions, mental illness and/or addictions. Strongly preferred QMHP-A; QMHP-C; and/or CSAC. Clinical licensed or license eligible staff also eligible.
