Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Painter to join our dynamic construction and renovation team. In this role, you will be responsible for applying paint, coatings, and finishes to various surfaces in residential, commercial, and industrial settings. Your expertise will help transform spaces, enhance aesthetics, and protect structures from environmental damage. Responsibilities
- Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, scraping, and applying primer to ensure optimal paint adhesion
- Apply paint, stains, varnishes, and other finishes using hand tools such as brushes, rollers, spray guns (including airless paint spraying), and power tools
- Read blueprints and schematics to determine project scope and specific requirements for each job
- Perform specialized painting tasks including industrial coating applications, restoration projects, stucco work, plastering, and masonry finishes
- Use construction estimating skills to assess project needs, materials required, and timeframes for completion
- Execute renovation and remodeling projects by installing fixtures, trim carpentry, caulking, and drywall finishing as needed
- Maintain safety standards on construction sites by handling tools properly and adhering to protocols for working with scaffolding, welding equipment, and other machinery
Requirements
- Proven experience in residential painting, commercial painting, or construction painting environments with a strong understanding of construction site procedures
- Knowledge of color theory to select appropriate hues and finishes for various surfaces
- Ability to read blueprints and schematics accurately for precise project execution
- Familiarity with hand tools such as caulking guns, putty knives, trowels, and power tools including drills and sanders
- Experience with plastering, stucco application, concrete finishing, masonry work, and fixture installation is highly desirable
- Basic math skills for measuring surfaces and calculating paint quantities effectively
- Strong construction site experience with an understanding of safety regulations and maintenance practices
- Additional skills such as welding or handyman experience are a plus but not required
