Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and energetic Kitchen Steward to join our dynamic culinary team. In this vital role, you will ensure the cleanliness, sanitation, and organization of our kitchen and dining areas. Your efforts will help maintain the highest standards of food safety and hygiene, supporting our chefs and food service staff in delivering outstanding guest experiences.
Duties
- Perform thorough cleaning of kitchen equipment, utensils, dishes, and food preparation areas in accordance with food safety sanitizing procedures.
- Assist with food preparation tasks as directed by chefs or kitchen supervisors to support smooth kitchen operation.
- Handle manual tasks such as heavy lifting of supplies and equipment safely, following proper lifting techniques.
- Operate kitchen equipment responsibly, including dishwashers, sinks, and other sanitation tools, adhering to safety standards.
- Maintain strict sanitation standards by regularly sanitizing surfaces, storage areas, and utensils to prevent contamination.
- Support the overall cleanliness of the kitchen by adhering to kitchen health and safety standards at all times.
Experience
- Previous food handling or food service experience is preferred but not required; training will be provided for motivated candidates.
- Experience working in restaurants, catering, or banquet settings is advantageous.
- Familiarity with kitchen safety protocols, sanitation procedures, and operating basic kitchen equipment is beneficial.
- Ability to perform physical tasks including heavy lifting and manual handling throughout shifts.
- Knowledge of food safety management practices is a plus to ensure compliance with health regulations.
