Job Summary
Custom Steel Supply is seeking an experienced CNC Milling Machine Operator/Programmer to join our team. This role involves setting up and operating CNC milling machines, programming parts, and ensuring high-quality production in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up and operate CNC milling machines safely and efficiently
- Program using Mastercam X9 and manual G-code/M-code
- Inspect finished parts using precision measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, depth gauges, tape measure)
- Read and interpret blueprints, work orders, and specifications
- Maintain accurate production and quality records
- Ensure a clean and safe work environment
- Assist with training new team members
- Support continuous improvement initiatives (5S, waste reduction)
Qualifications
- 5+ years of CNC milling experience (Haas mills/lathes preferred)
- Strong knowledge of G-code and M-code programming
- Experience with CAD/CAM software (Mastercam preferred)
- Ability to read blueprints and perform shop math (including trigonometry)
- Experience using precision measuring tools
- High school diploma or equivalent
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand for extended periods
- Ability to lift 50–75 lbs
- Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment
