Duties
- Greet customers warmly and assist them in selecting their favorite ice cream flavors and toppings.
- Scoop ice cream accurately and efficiently, ensuring portion control and presentation quality.
- Operate POS (Point of Sale) systems to process cash transactions, credit card payments, and manage receipts.
- Maintain cleanliness of the scooping station, utensils, and surrounding areas by following food safety sanitizing procedures.
- Restock supplies regularly, including cones, cups, toppings, and napkins to ensure smooth operations.
- Follow food handling guidelines diligently to uphold health standards and prevent cross-contamination.
- Support team members with food preparation tasks such as preparing waffle cones or other dessert items when needed.
- Engage in manual handling of heavy containers or ingredients while adhering to proper lifting techniques.
- Assist with cleaning duties at the end of shifts, including sanitizing equipment and ensuring the workspace is tidy.
- Provide friendly in-person customer service that enhances the overall guest experience, encouraging repeat visits.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in food service or hospitality environments is preferred; experience with fine dining or catering is a plus.
- Knowledge of food safety management practices and sanitizing procedures is essential.
- Ability to operate kitchen equipment such as scoopers, blenders, or warming stations confidently.
- Strong customer service skills with a positive attitude and excellent communication abilities.
- Basic math skills for handling cash transactions accurately and managing inventory counts.
- Experience with POS systems or cash register operation is advantageous.
- Familiarity with food industry standards related to food handling, sanitation, and safety protocols.
- Previous banquet or catering experience can be beneficial but is not required.
- Ability to stand for extended periods, lift heavy items safely, and work in a fast-paced environment.
