Responsibilities
- Safely load and unload products using manual handling techniques, or other equipment while following safe lifting practices
- Drive commercial vehicles such as box trucks or drivers to deliver goods to various locations, adhering to DOT regulations and route schedules
- Load and secure cargo properly to prevent damage during transit, ensuring compliance with weight handling standards in the workplace
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections before and after trips to ensure safety and maintenance needs are met
- Provide exceptional customer service during deliveries by communicating professionally with clients and addressing their needs
- Move inventory within the warehouse using manual handling equipment like pallet jacks or hand carts, ensuring accurate placement and organization
- Follow all safety protocols related to heavy lifting, manual handling, and vehicle operation to maintain a safe working environment for yourself and colleagues
Skills
- Prior warehouse experience with familiarity in load & unload procedures and inventory management
- Valid commercial driving license with experience operating box trucks or similar vehicles; knowledge of driving routes and delivery schedules
- Experience with delivery driver roles, courier services, or route driving preferred
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while adhering to safe lifting practices and manual handling standards
- Knowledge of DOT regulations related to commercial vehicle operation and weight handling in the workplace
- Proficiency in operating forklifts, pallet jacks, or similar equipment is a plus; certification is advantageous
- Strong customer service skills with clear communication abilities and a professional demeanor
