Summary: We are seeking a skilled and reliable Mobil Trailer Mechanic to join our maintenance team. The Trailer Mechanic is responsible for the inspection, diagnosis, repair, and preventive maintenance of trucks, trailers, and associated equipment that support the logistics and transportation operations of our company. This role ensures that all fleet vehicles remain in safe, roadworthy condition and comply with all relevant regulations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform routine inspections and maintenance on company trucks and trailers, including brakes, suspension systems, steering, tires, lighting, and hydraulic systems
- Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and technical issues and execute timely repairs
- Conduct DOT (Department of Transportation) inspections and ensure compliance with safety standards
- Maintain accurate service records and repair logs using maintenance software or paper documentation
- Troubleshoot and repair diesel engines, transmissions, and exhaust systems
- Replace and repair tires, lighting, trailer components, and air systems
- Respond to emergency repairs when needed
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, drivers, and supervisors regarding equipment issues and repair timelines
- Order and manage parts inventory related to fleet maintenance
- Keep work areas clean, organized, and free of hazards, including proper storage of tools, parts, and supplies
- Adjust to changing work assignments based on priority/ instructions by management
- Demonstrate a positive, cooperative attitude at all times

Qualifications/Skills:
- At least 1 year of experience as a trailer technician
- Experience as a diesel or heavy truck mechanic is a plus
- Strong knowledge of diesel engines, air brake systems, trailer components, and vehicle diagnostics
- DOT Certified
- Familiarity with OSHA safety standards
- Ability to use diagnostic tools, lifts, and standard mechanical equipment
- Valid driver’s license required; CDL (Class A or B) is a plus
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment
