Responsibilities
- Assist with food production and meal preparation in accordance with dietary guidelines and safety standards
- Serve meals to students with friendly, attentive customer service, ensuring their dietary needs are met
- Maintain cleanliness of kitchen and dining areas through proper sanitation, cleaning, and bussing procedures
- Handle food safely by following proper food handling protocols and sanitation practices
- Support the dietary department by organizing supplies, stocking food items, and preparing ingredients for meal service
- Assist with food presentation and portioning to ensure appealing and consistent servings
- Follow all safety regulations related to food handling, sanitation, and kitchen operations to promote a safe environment for staff and residents
Qualifications
- Previous experience food industry such as hospital, nursing homes or school settings is preferred
- Knowledge of food production, preparation, serving, and sanitation practices is highly desirable
- Strong time management skills to efficiently handle multiple tasks during meal times
- Experience with food handling, cooking, or culinary activities is beneficial
- Excellent customer service skills with a friendly attitude towards students and team members
- Ability to work as part of a team in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
