Qualifications:
- MUST BE 21 years of age or older.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education in cannabis or related fields is a plus.
- Previous retail, customer service, or cannabis industry experience preferred.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to handle cash accurately and responsibly.
- Familiarity with cannabis products, strains, and industry terminology is highly desirable.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to changes in regulations or products.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 pounds.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced retail environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Customer Service:
- Greet and assist customers with a welcoming and professional demeanor.
- Educate customers on various cannabis products, their effects, proper use, and safe consumption practices.
- Guide customers in selecting the products that best suit their needs and preferences.
- Respond to customer inquiries regarding product types, serving sizes, methods of administration, and expected effects.
Sales Transactions:
- Operate the Point-of-Sale (POS) system to complete transactions accurately.
- Ensure compliance with purchase limits and state regulations.
- Verify customer IDs to confirm they are 21 or older and meet entry requirements.
Cash Handling:
- Count cash at the beginning and end of each shift to ensure the cash drawer contains the correct amount
- Reconcile and deposit excess cash into the safe following company procedures.
- Report discrepancies in cash amounts immediately to the Manager.
Product Knowledge:
- Maintain an in-depth understanding of all products sold, including flowers, concentrates, edibles, and more.
- Communicate onset times, duration of effects, and warnings for use to customers.
- Provide secure storage and disposal tips for cannabis products.
Compliance and Regulations:
- Adhere to all NYS and OCM laws and regulations.
- Prevent sales to underage individuals and monitor for fraudulent IDs.
- Follow proper procedures for handling cannabis products and waste disposal.
Store Maintenance:
- Keep the sales floor, BudBar, staff room, hallway, and vestibule clean and organized.
- Restock inventory and ensure displays are tidy and compliant.
- Secure all cannabis products and samples at the end of the shift.
Team Collaboration:
- Communicate effectively with team members and managers to ensure smooth operations.
- Participate in ongoing training and team meetings to stay informed about new products, laws, and company policies.
