Payroll Specialist
We’re partnering with a mission-driven nonprofit organization in Houston that is seeking an experienced Payroll Specialist to join its Human Resources team. This is a hands-on role supporting payroll, benefits administration, and employee onboarding for approximately 100 employees.

What You’ll Do:

Process bi-weekly and semi-monthly payroll for approximately 100 employees.

Review, audit, and correct employee timecards to ensure payroll accuracy.

Prepare onboarding paperwork related to payroll and benefits.

Administer employee benefits through Employee Navigator, including coordinating with the benefits broker to ensure new hires are properly enrolled.

Process quarterly employee bonus payments.

Manage wage garnishments and employment verification requests.

Process 403(b) retirement plan contributions.

Reconcile payroll reports and provide payroll support to the Accounting team.

Respond to employee payroll and benefits questions while maintaining confidentiality.
What We’re Looking For:

3+ years of payroll processing experience.

Experience processing both bi-weekly and semi-monthly payroll.

Knowledge of payroll regulations, garnishments, payroll reporting, and benefits administration.

Experience with Employee Navigator or a similar benefits administration platform is preferred.

Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational and time management skills.

Recent experience using Paylocity is strongly desired.

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.

Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities while meeting deadlines.
