Overview
The Custom Fabrication Producer is the primary liaison between the client and the production team, responsible for managing projects from initial inquiry and estimation through fabrication, installation, and final delivery. This role requires a blend of sales acumen, technical knowledge of fabrication processes, and strong project management skills to meet client needs while ensuring projects are completed on time, within scope, and on budget.
Key Responsibilities
Account Management & Sales

Client Relations: Develop and maintain strong, long-term relationships with clients, understanding their needs and objectives to foster repeat business.

Estimating & Quoting: Field project inquiries, analyze project specifications and drawings, and create detailed, accurate cost estimates and proposals for materials, labor, and logistics.

Sales & Negotiation: Close sales to achieve revenue targets and negotiate contracts, scope, and change orders with clients.

Communication: Serve as the main point of contact, providing regular project status updates, managing expectations, and addressing any client concerns swiftly and professionally.
Project Management & Execution

Project Planning: Develop detailed project plans, schedules, and budgets, defining scopes and objectives in collaboration with all stakeholders.

Coordination & Collaboration: Coordinate internal resources (design, engineering, shop teams, purchasing) and external third parties/vendors to ensure seamless project execution.

Production Oversight: Liaise with the shop floor and general foreman to monitor production progress, ensure quality control standards are met, and address fabrication issues as they arise.

Budget & Schedule Management: Monitor project progress, work hours, budgets, and expenditures, making necessary adjustments to keep projects on track financially and on schedule.

Documentation & Quality Control: Maintain exacting standards for project documentation, approvals, and quality control, ensuring the final product aligns with client specifications and industry standards.

Risk Management: Perform risk management to anticipate and mitigate potential project risks, such as material lead times or design issues.
Qualifications & Skills

Experience: Proven experience (e.g., 3-5+ years) in project management within custom fabrication, millwork, metal fabrication, or construction environment.

Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of fabrication methods, processes, materials (e.g., metal, wood, textiles), and the ability to read and interpret technical/engineering drawings and specifications.

Software Proficiency: Experience with project management software, ERP systems, and basic computer skills (MS Office Suite, CAD programs are a bonus).

Communication: Excellent written and oral communication, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills.

Problem-Solving: Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities, especially under pressure or when unforeseen issues arise.
