Job Summary
We are seeking an energetic and dynamic General Manager (GM) to lead our Courtyard by Marriott Columbia / Cayce with passion and precision. Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise all hotel departments, including front desk, housekeeping, food and beverage, and guest services, fostering a culture of excellence and teamwork.
- Develop and implement strategic plans to enhance guest satisfaction, operational efficiency, and revenue growth.
- Manage hospitality operations budgets, monitor financial performance, and optimize revenue management strategies to meet or exceed financial targets.
- Oversee human resources functions such as hiring, training, performance evaluations, and staff development to build a motivated and high-performing team.
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations, hotel policies, and brand standards while maintaining a welcoming environment for guests and staff alike.
- Handle guest relations with professionalism and enthusiasm to resolve issues promptly and ensure memorable experiences.
- Utilize multi-line phone systems with excellent phone etiquette to manage reservations, inquiries, and guest communications efficiently.
- Oversee night audit procedures to ensure accurate financial reporting and smooth overnight operations.
- Implement best practices in customer service delivery across all touchpoints to elevate the guest experience consistently.
- Maintain hospitality management standards by staying current on industry trends such as resort experience enhancements and innovative service techniques.
Qualifications
- Proven supervising experience within the hospitality industry, preferably in hotel management or resort settings. Marriott GM experience is required.
- Strong background in hospitality management, including hotel operations, revenue management, budgeting, and financial operations.
- Exceptional customer service skills with a passion for creating welcoming environments for diverse guests.
- Demonstrated leadership abilities in managing hospitality teams effectively across multiple departments.
- Knowledge of human resources practices related to staffing, training, and employee engagement.
- Multilingual or bilingual skills are highly desirable to serve an international clientele effectively.
- Experience with front desk operations, night audit procedures, and multi-line phone systems is essential.
- Familiarity with managing hospitality operations budgets and implementing revenue strategies is preferred.
- Excellent communication skills coupled with a proactive approach to problem-solving are vital for success in this role.
