The Peer Support/ Psychoeducation Group Facilitator is responsible for delivering psychoeducational programs to individuals and groups to promote mental health awareness, coping skills, and emotional resilience for court ordered individuals. The facilitator will implement and evaluate structured learning sessions aimed at enhancing participants' understanding of mental health conditions, treatment options, and self-management strategies. Working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams, the Clinical Facilitator will ensure that psychoeducation programs are evidence-based, engaging, and tailored to meet the needs of diverse populations.
Key Responsibilities:
Facilitation of Psychoeducation Sessions: Lead individual and group psychoeducational sessions on topics such as stress management, emotional regulation, anxiety, depression, and coping strategies.
Provide information about mental health disorders, treatment options, and self-care practices to participants.
Facilitate discussions, encourage participation, and ensure a supportive learning environment for all participants.
Client Engagement and Support:
Engage clients in psychoeducational activities that promote understanding of their mental health conditions and empower them to take an active healthy role in their life.
Assist clients in identifying coping skills and action plans to manage symptoms and improve their overall well-being.
Offer support and guidance in navigating treatment resources and connecting clients with appropriate services.
Collaboration and Multidisciplinary Teamwork: Collaborate with other mental health professionals and participate in Adult Recovery Team Meetings and interdisciplinary team meetings with referents and court officials to discuss client
progress and make recommendations for ongoing care and to ensure that psychoeducation is integrated into comprehensive treatment plans.
Participates in staff in-service training programs and/or educational programs, as required, and, when requested, conducts an in-service training.
Attends regularly scheduled Clinical Supervision and All Staff Development meetings.
Clinical Documentation and Report Writing:
Maintain accurate records of attendance and program participation and Maintain contact with the client’s referent, as designated, to ensure communication of significant issues and progress. This includes monthly advisories or other summary narratives required by referents via telephone, e-mail, or video.
Develops and prepares appropriate aftercare plans for each client prior to discharge and coordinates the continuing care with referents, identified referral sources, and when appropriate, the client’s family, in accordance with the Center’s policies and procedures.
Prepares and documents a comprehensive Discharge Summary of Treatment for each client within established time frames as required by policies and procedures and in compliance with licensing standards.
Ensure that the client chart is current and in compliance with all licensing standards. Progress notes must be completed promptly after each session, group or individual.
Qualifications:
Education: Peer Support Certified.
Experience: Minimum of 2-3 years of experience working in a clinical or mental health setting, preferably in a facilitation or educational role. Professional experience in direct clinical practice with chemical dependency and/or mental health populations.
Experience in group facilitation, especially in a mental health or behavioral health setting.
Skills:
Strong knowledge of mental health conditions, treatments, and psychoeducational interventions.
Excellent group facilitation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to create a safe, supportive, and non-judgmental environment for participants.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams and adapt to the needs of diverse client populations.
Demonstrates independent and critical thinking skills to manage crisis or urgent clinical issues.
Certifications:
Peer Support, BHT, or other Relevant certifications required.
*Must have or be able to obtain a current Fingerprint Clearance card.
** If prior history of chemical dependency must be in recovery for three consecutive years. This period of abstinence from alcohol, drugs, or mood-altering substances must be verifiable.
Pay: $20.00 - $22.00 per hour
