Job Overview
We are a busy, patient-focused dermatology practice dedicated to providing exceptional medical and surgical dermatologic care. We are seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented Surgery Scheduler to join our team and help coordinate patient care from diagnosis through treatment.
The Surgery Scheduler plays a critical role in ensuring patients receive timely and efficient care following biopsy results and surgical recommendations. This position requires excellent communication skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast paced medical environment.
Responsibilities
- Contact patients regarding biopsy results and treatment recommendations as directed by providers.
- Schedule dermatologic surgeries, including Mohs surgery and excisions
- Prioritize surgical scheduling based on diagnosis, urgency and provider recommendations.
- Maintain and track biopsy and surgery logs to ensure timely follow-up and completion of care.
- Coordinate care with referring providers and outside medical offices.
- Obtain and organize necessary medical records and referrals.
- Communicate with patients regarding pre-operative and post-operative instructions.
- Monitor outstanding pathology reports, surgical appointments, and follow-up care.
- Insurance authorizations and documentation.
- Respond to patient questions and provide exceptional customer service.
- Support providers and administrative staff with additional projects and duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Previous medical scheduling or healthcare experience preferred.
- Dermatology, surgical scheduling, or medical office experience strongly preferred.
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
- Ability to maintain accuracy while managing a high volume of patient interactions.
- Proficiency with electronic medical records systems.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.

Pay: $23.00 - $26.00 per hour
