Finance Consultants at FSP work with clients to implement, configure, and optimize Deltek Vision and Vantagepoint Finance modules. You will be a trusted advisor to your clients - the person they call when they need to understand how their system works, why something is not working the way they expected, or how to get more out of their investment. You will manage engagements, build relationships, and deliver implementations that actually stick.
The right candidate for this role understands project-based accounting, knows their way around the Deltek Finance suite, and is comfortable being in front of clients. We can help with all the rest.
You will work with clients to implement and configure Deltek Finance modules - from initial scoping and discovery through go-live and beyond. That means running sessions, making configuration decisions, managing scope, keeping projects on schedule, and making sure clients understand the tool when you are done.
Our clients are not tickets in a queue - they are ongoing relationships. You will be the person they trust to tell them the truth about their system, help them think through a decision, and get them unstuck when something is not working. At more senior levels, you will manage those relationships at the executive level and serve as an escalation point for the broader team.
We are a small firm, which means that everybody contributes. What that might look like is: mentoring less-experienced colleagues, contributing to internal knowledge resources, participating in proposals and scoping conversations, and occasionally representing FSP at conferences or webinars. The more senior you are, the more of this you do - but even at the Staff level, you are a contributor, not just an attendee.
We have built out formal tracks for Finance, CRM, and Development consulting because we want people to be able to grow in the direction that plays to their strengths. If you are interested in developing a specialty in Resource Planning, a particular Finance module, or even in bridging into development work on the technical side of Deltek, there is a path for that here. We do not hand you a career plan on day one, but we take development seriously and we build structure around it.
We hire across experience levels, so not everything below is required at every level. What we are always looking for is solid Deltek Finance knowledge, a genuine comfort with client work, and the kind of professional judgment that comes from real-world experience.

Experience with Deltek Vision or Vantagepoint in a Finance or accounting role - either as a consultant or as a power user on the client side.

Working knowledge of project-based accounting concepts - billing, revenue recognition, GL structure, and how those things live inside Deltek.

Comfort working directly with clients - you can run a meeting, manage a difficult conversation, and keep a project moving without constant oversight.

Clear written and verbal communication - you can explain a complex configuration decision in plain English to someone who does not live in the system.

A bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field - or the kind of hands-on experience that makes the degree irrelevant.

Experience delivering Deltek implementations as a consultant, not just as an end user.

Depth in specific Finance modules - billing, multi-company, revenue generation, project reporting, or any of the specialized modules in the Deltek suite.

Experience writing proposals, scoping engagements, or managing a client portfolio.

A track record of mentoring colleagues.

Any exposure to Deltek's development-adjacent tools - custom UDICs, workflows, or BI reporting - is a genuine differentiator.
We are intentionally hiring across a range of experience levels. Here is a rough guide to how we think about each:
Staff
1-5 years of Deltek Finance experience. You work under the guidance of more senior consultants and are building toward independent delivery. You know the system and you are ready to apply that knowledge in a client-facing consulting role.
Senior
5-7 years of experience, including at least 2 years in a consulting delivery role. You lead implementations for less complex clients independently, manage the client relationship, and are starting to draft proposals and mentor Staff Consultants.
Principal
7-10 years of experience, with 3 or more years in consulting. You lead complex engagements independently, own executive-level client relationships, and contribute meaningfully to proposals, business development, and staff mentoring.
Senior Principal
10+ years of experience, with deep expertise across the Deltek Finance suite. You lead the firm's most demanding engagements, help shape how we deliver, and play an active role in developing the next generation of consultants at FSP.
We offer competitive salaries based on experience and level, with a discretionary bonus program. The range for this role is $75,000 to $140,000 depending on experience, with bonus on top of that.
