Summary
The Entiat School District is seeking dedicated and flexible individuals to fill the role of a Para Educator Substitute. This position is crucial in providing support to students and teachers in various educational settings. The ideal candidate will be able to adapt to different environments, assist with instructional activities, and contribute to creating a positive and productive learning atmosphere.
Responsibilities
- Assist teachers in implementing instructional plans and activities.
- Supervise and support students in both individual and group settings.
- Provide assistance to students with special needs, ensuring their engagement and participation in classroom activities.
- Help maintain a safe and orderly classroom and recess environment.
- Support classroom management by reinforcing rules and expectations.
- Assist with the preparation of instructional materials and resources.
- Monitor student progress and provide feedback to teachers.
- Provide supervision during lunch and recess, both indoors and outdoors.
- Communicate effectively with students, staff, and parents as required.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional experience in education or child development is preferred.
- Previous experience working with children or in an educational setting is desirable.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with teachers and staff.
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine interest in supporting student learning.
- Flexibility to adapt to various environments and changing needs.
- Basic computer skills and familiarity with educational technology is a plus.
- Must pass a background check as required by the school district.
- Cleared fingerprints from the Washington State Patrol and FBI must be on file with OSPI. Fingerprint appointments are available at the North Central Educational Service District. The current cost of fingerprints is $95.00 and is the responsibility of the substitute. (Please contact the Entiat School District office for more information.)
