Job Overview
We are seeking a nurturing and reliable Infant/Toddler Teacher who meets Massachusetts Department of Early Education and Care (EEC) requirements. The Infant Teacher is responsible for providing responsive, developmentally appropriate care to infants in compliance with EEC regulations (606 CMR 7.00). This role supports infants’ physical, social, emotional, and cognitive development in a safe, healthy, and supportive classroom environment.
Responsibilities
- Provide primary caregiving to infants in accordance with EEC infant teacher-child ratio requirements
- Implement individualized routines including feeding, diapering, sleeping, and soothing
- Maintain constant supervision and ensure the health and safety of all infants
- Plan and implement developmentally appropriate activities aligned with infant milestones
- Observe, document, and communicate infants’ progress and daily activities to families
- Maintain accurate records including daily sheets, incident reports, and injury logs as required by EEC
- Follow all EEC health, safety, and sanitation regulations
- Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free classroom environment
- Practice safe sleep procedures in compliance with EEC regulations and center policies
- Communicate effectively and professionally with families and staff
- Participate in staff meetings, trainings, and ongoing professional development
- Work collaboratively with co-teachers and center leadership
Qualifications (Mass EEC Requirements)
- Must meet Massachusetts EEC Infant/Toddler Teacher qualifications, including:
- High school diploma or GED
- EEC Infant/Toddler Teacher certification (or eligibility and willingness to obtain)
- Previous experience working with infants in a licensed childcare program preferred
- Current CPR, First Aid, and EpiPen certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Completion of required EEC trainings
- Must pass EEC background check (CORI, SORI, and fingerprinting)
- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs and engage in floor-level activities
