Job Title: Food and Beverage Server
Position Summary
The Food & Beverage Server is responsible for providing exceptional casino guest service by delivering food and beverages in a friendly, professional, and efficient manner. This role creates memorable dining experiences through product knowledge, attentive service, and a commitment to hospitality while maintaining company standards for quality, cleanliness, and safety.
All duties are performed in accordance with applicable laws, gaming regulations, company policies, and established procedures while promoting Crystal Casino's commitment to professionalism, teamwork, and exceptional customer service.
Essential Responsibilities
- Welcome casino guests warmly and create a positive first impression.
- Present menus, explain daily specials, and make knowledgeable food and beverage recommendations.
- Provide professional and courteous service to casino guests, employees, and vendors.
- Check identification of casino guests being served Alcoholic Beverages.
- Ensure all food and alcohol and non-alcohol beverage orders are taken and delivered promptly while ensuring accuracy and presentation standards.
- Accurately take guest orders using the point-of-sale (POS) system.
- Process payments accurately, including cash, credit card, and room charge transactions (if applicable).
- Maintain knowledge of all menu offerings and pricing, including all beverages.
- Set up and maintain bar tables, bar counter, and portables tables for service on a regular basis.
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of the snack bar, service station, bar area, and assigned work areas.
- Follow all food safety, sanitation, and responsible alcohol service guidelines.
- Collaborate with kitchen staff, bartenders, hosts, and fellow team members to ensure efficient service.
- Assist with opening and closing duties, including side work, cleaning, and inventory replenishment.
- Continuously monitor casino guests for signs of intoxication and promptly notify the Shift Manager when appropriate.
- Report inaccuracies, equipment issues, casino guest concerns, or operational problems to the Shift Manager.
- Never indicate that a tip or gratuity is expected for service.
- Participate in ongoing training and team meetings.
- Ensure assigned work areas remain clean, organized, secure, and full stocked.
- Perform other work-related duties assigned by the Shift Manager.
Qualifications

- Must be at least 21 years old.
- Must pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol screening.
- Must provide proof of eligibility to work in the United States.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Must possess and maintain a valid California Responsible Beverage Service (RBS) certification.
- Must possess and maintain a valid California Food Handler Card.
- Previous restaurant or hospitality experience preferred.
- Must be available to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and overtime, as business needs require.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Strong customer service, communication, and hospitality skills.
- English written and verbal communications skills required; bilingual abilities are a plus.
- Ability to work independently, strong attention to detail, exercise sound judgment and make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment while maintaining professionalism.
- Knowledge of Point of Sale (POS) ordering systems.
- Basic math skills and experience handling cash and electronic payments accurately.
- Knowledge of food, beverage, wine, and cocktail service is a plus.
- Ability to monitor alcohol consumption and signs of intoxication.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, climb stairs, and perform repetitive tasks for extended periods.
- Ability to remain focused and professional while performing multiple tasks for extended periods.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 10-25 pounds regularly.
- Frequent reaching, bending, carrying, handling, and manual dexterity to carry trays and operate POS equipment.
Work Environment
- Fast-paced casino food and beverage environment with frequent casino guest and employee interaction.
- Moderate to high noise levels with frequent activity and distractions.
- Ability to work in vary temperatures, including kitchens and possible outdoor dining environments.
- Exposure to food preparation areas, cleaning products, and varying temperatures.

Employees are expected to always maintain a professional appearance and demeanor consistent with Crystal Casino's grooming and appearance standards as outlined in the Employee Handbook.
Licensing Requirements
- Must be able to obtain and maintain all licenses, permits, certifications, and work authorizations required by the City of Compton, the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department, the California Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control, and any other applicable regulatory agencies, which includes a background check.
