Responsibilities
- Measure, cut, and lay tiles accurately according to project specifications and blueprints
- Prepare surfaces by cleaning, leveling, and applying necessary adhesives or mortar
- Install various types of flooring including ceramic, porcelain, stone, and glass tiles
- Read schematics and blueprints to ensure precise placement and layout of tiles
- Use hand tools and power tools safely to cut, shape, and secure tiles effectively
- Perform caulking, trim carpentry, and fixture installation as needed for complete finishes
- Assist with water damage restoration projects by removing damaged materials and installing new tile surfaces
- Maintain a clean work environment by organizing tools and debris removal throughout the job site
Qualifications
- Proven experience in tile laying, flooring installation, or related construction work
- Strong knowledge of construction estimating, blueprint reading, and schematics interpretation
- Skilled in using hand tools such as trowels, cutters, levels, and caulking guns; familiarity with power tools is a plus
- Experience with construction site safety protocols and proper use of personal protective equipment
- Background in carpentry, remodeling, or handyman work is advantageous
- Ability to read technical drawings and understand construction plans for accurate installation
- Knowledge of restoration industry practices including water damage restoration and floor care techniques
