Where You Will Work:
The Medical ICU (MICU) at Carolinas Medical Center is a 29-bed unit that cares for a diverse, high-acuity patient population, including those with ARDS, septic shock, liver failure, multi-organ failure, respiratory failure, gastrointestinal bleeds, complex oncology needs, renal failure, sickle cell crises, diabetic ketoacidosis, and post cardiac arrest care. Our team is actively involved in advanced critical care practice, including assisting with intubations and bedside procedures, titrating multiple vasoactive drips, providing comfort-focused care, coordinating off-unit procedures, and managing life support therapies such as ECMO. We collaborate closely with a wide range of specialty consult services to deliver comprehensive care. Beyond bedside care, we emphasize teamwork and innovation, continuously seeking ways to improve patient outcomes, safety, and quality of care. The Medical ICU fosters a culture of accountability, respect, and professionalism, where team members support one another and uphold the highest standards of practice. We also received the AACN Beacon award of Excellence.
We’re Looking For:

Completion of an accredited or approved program in nursing

Candidates must have at least 6 months of RN experience, this position is not for new graduates.

Registered Nurse license issued by the state in which the teammate practices

Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association
- ACLS Required within 6 months of hire

2 years of Critical Care RN experience strongly preferred for Day Shift

As a skilled and compassionate RN, you will play a pivotal role in providing and coordinating comprehensive patient care through the nursing process to deliver safe, therapeutic care in accordance with established standards, policies, and procedures.
- Using evidence-based practice, clinical decision making, compassion, and skills communication while leading efforts to create the safest patient environment and the best patient experience across the continuum.
