Job description
As head teacher of the Preschool Classroom you will be responsible for administering the educational program of The Goddard School as well as the care of each and every child in your classroom. You will also be responsible for adhering to all Goddard’s health and safety standards. You will report to the Director of Education.

1) The Program
The Goddard School’s program has been designed to develop your child’s self-esteem and love of learning in a secure, warm environment. We here at Goddard strongly believe that this is the foundation upon which future growth and development will take place. Our program includes activities that:
- develop social and emotional skills
- stimulate language and communication
- encourage problem solving
- teach self control and following directions
- teach balance and coordination.
2) The Teachers /Classrooms
The State of New Jersey requires that all Pre-Schools have one or two certified teachers on staff. At Goddard, we strive to have a state certified, 4-year degreed teacher (in either Early Childhood or Elementary Education) in every classroom. Furthermore, The Goddard School maintains lower ratios and smaller class sizes than most other preschools.
The combination of dedicated, professional, degreed teachers, and the smaller, more personal classroom environment, results in the strong academic program at The Goddard School.
Salary: Open, compensated with experience.
Hours: School is open 6:30 A.M. to 6:30 P.M. Monday through Friday. Head teachers work between 30 and 40 hours per week.
Requirements: Teacher must be certified or willing to gain certification through Childhood Development Associates (CDA program). First Aid and CPR certified, which can be provided by the Goddard School. All teachers are fingerprinted and background checked prior to working at the school.
