Clinical Scope: Emergency Management & Holistic Care
You will operate at the highest level of obstetrical nursing, managing the labor, delivery, and immediate recovery continuum:
- Perinatal Emergency Readiness: Demonstrate split-second clinical judgment during high-stakes emergencies, including crash C-sections, precipitous deliveries, and shoulder dystocia maneuvers.
- Fetal Monitoring Mastery: Independently institute fetal monitoring, accurately evaluate complex tracings, monitor amniotic fluid status, and recognize/manage maternal-fetal abnormalities.
- Advanced Pain Navigation: Assist with epidural catheter placements, monitor maternal/fetal stability post-anesthesia administration, and actively support alternative pain control methodologies based on patient preference.
- Comprehensive Care & Demise Support: Formulate goal-oriented care plans that honor diverse cultural backgrounds. Provide deeply compassionate, high-quality psychosocial support for families navigating fetal demise.
What You Bring to the Floor
Because you will be stepping into an active unit with an abbreviated orientation runway, your credentials must be fully locked down:
- Experience Baseline: Strong, recent L&D experience in an acute care hospital setting (must be fully independent in triaging, laboring, circulating, and recovering).
- The Certification Stack: You must hold active AHA BLS, ACLS, NRP, and AWHONN (Fetal Monitoring) credentials.
- Documentation Skills: Proven track record of legible, highly accurate, and timely charting regarding medication responses and patient care.
Pay: Up to $4,734.00 per week
