Position Summary:
The Hotel Maintenance person is responsible for overseeing the daily maintenance operations of the hotel, ensuring the property is in excellent condition and all systems function effectively. This role involves performing repairs and preventive maintenance tasks, and coordinating with other departments to meet guest and operational needs. The maintenance person will ensure a safe, clean, and well-maintained environment for both guests and staff, providing a seamless and comfortable experience.
Qualifications:
Education: High school diploma or equivalent; additional training in hospitality or similar.
Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of hands-on maintenance experience, preferably in a hotel or similar hospitality environment.
Certifications: Certifications in relevant areas (e.g., HVAC, plumbing, electrical) are a plus. OSHA or similar safety certifications preferred.
Languages: Must be Bilingual.
Skills:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Understand and efficiently operate computer.
- Strong knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical systems, carpentry, and general building maintenance.
- Proficiency in using maintenance tools, machinery, and diagnostic equipment.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to make decisions under pressure and handle multiple tasks at once.
Requirements:
- Must be able to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the property which may require weekends and holidays.
- Must be able to lift and carry heavy objects, climb ladders, and perform other physical tasks as needed.
- Ability to work in a variety of weather conditions and hotel environments.
- Ability to stand, walk, and lift moderate to heavy items throughout the workday.
Responsibilities:
General Maintenance: Perform routine inspections of hotel facilities and equipment, identifying areas requiring repair or maintenance. Handle a wide range of maintenance tasks, including plumbing, electrical,
HVAC, carpentry, painting, and general repairs. Manage hotel systems such as heating, ventilation, air conditioning (HVAC), electrical, plumbing, elevators and pool. Ensure compliance with all safety and
health regulations, and oversee any necessary repairs related to fire, health, and safety codes. Conduct additional tasks assigned by General Manager.
Preventive Maintenance: Implement and maintain a preventive maintenance program to ensure equipment and systems are regularly serviced and maintained. Schedule and oversee maintenance checks on major hotel systems (e.g., HVAC, electrical, plumbing, etc.), reducing the risk of unexpected breakdowns.
Emergency Response & Safety: Respond to hotel emergencies, such as equipment failures, power outages, or water damage, to minimize disruption to hotel operations. Ensure the safety of staff and guests by following proper protocols and reporting hazards immediately.
Guest Satisfaction: Respond promptly to guest maintenance requests and resolve any issues that may arise during their stay. Ensure that maintenance-related disruptions (e.g., noise, maintenance downtime) are kept to a minimum and communicated to guests as needed.
Coordination with Other Departments Work closely with other hotel departments, such as housekeeping, front desk, and management, to ensure seamless operations and guest satisfaction. Maintain accurate records of all maintenance work, including repairs, preventive maintenance, and inventory logs.
Budget and Cost Control: Maintain inventory of maintenance supplies and tools, ordering materials as necessary. Work with the General Manager to manage the department’s budget, tracking costs and finding ways to improve efficiency and reduce expenses.
Record-Keeping and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of all maintenance work, including repairs, preventive maintenance, and inventory logs.

Pay: $13.00 - $16.00 per hour
