As a Recess Coach at HERO, you'll be bringing excitement, engagement, and structure to recess with the following responsibilities:
- Organizing and Leading Games: Plan and facilitate engaging playground activities for K-5th grade students, ensuring everyone has a great time.
- Playground Setup: Prepare the playground for workshops and recess, making sure all equipment is ready and game stations are set up.
- Equipment Care: Maintain and manage playground equipment to keep everything in good condition and accounted for.
- Physical Activity Classes: Lead dynamic physical activity classes for K-5th graders, promoting fitness, social-emotional learning, and fun.
- Leadership Program Supervision: Oversee and guide our leadership program at elementary school sites, helping students develop important life skills.
Requirements:
1. Must be able to pass Criminal Background Check & TB Test
2. Applicants must have a valid government-issued photo ID or driver’s license.
3. Applicants must be at least 18 years of age to be considered for the Sports Coach role.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $20.00 per hour

- Do you currently have any extended vacations, travel, or other planned commitments that would require you to miss multiple workdays between August 18, 2026 and June 10, 2027, outside of scheduled school holidays?
- Are you comfortable leading structured games, sports, and physical activities with elementary school students?
- If selected, are you willing and able to complete all required employment and school-site clearances, including fingerprinting/background check and mandated reporter training?
- Do you have a valid government-issued photo ID or driver’s license?
