Build the Team Behind a Growing National Trucking Company
We're a U.S.-based Class 8 over-the-road (OTR) dry van trucking company operating throughout the continental United States. As our organization continues to grow, we're looking for an experienced Talent Acquisition Manager to build, lead, and own our recruiting function.
This is not a recruiting coordinator or assistant role. We are looking for someone who has successfully built recruiting operations, developed hiring systems, and partnered directly with executive leadership to scale an organization.
If you've built recruiting departments for OTR trucking companies and understand what it takes to hire exceptional talent across every business function—not just CDL drivers—we'd like to speak with you.
What You'll Do
As our Talent Acquisition Manager, you'll own the company's recruiting strategy from sourcing through hiring.
Responsibilities include:
- Lead all company recruiting efforts across multiple departments
- Build scalable recruiting processes and standard operating procedures (SOPs)
- Design structured interview processes and hiring scorecards
- Create recruiting pipelines for current and future hiring needs
- Source high-quality candidates using modern recruiting tools
- Recruit management and executive-level talent
- Partner directly with ownership and executive leadership on workforce planning
- Track recruiting metrics and continuously improve hiring performance
- Manage ATS workflows and candidate experience
- Implement AI tools to improve recruiting efficiency and productivity
Departments You'll Recruit For
You'll recruit for positions including:
- Dispatch
- Safety & Compliance
- Operations
- Driver Recruiting
- Accounting & Finance
- Customer Support
- Administration
- Human Resources
- Sales
- Information Technology
- Automation
- Maintenance & Fleet Support
- Department Managers
- Executive Support
- Future leadership and corporate positions
Required Qualifications
Candidates must meet all of the following requirements:
Recruiting Experience
- Minimum 3 years of full-cycle recruiting experience
- Minimum 2 years recruiting specifically for U.S.-based Class 8 OTR dry van trucking companies
- Minimum 2 years recruiting both remote back-office employees and local employees/contractors for trucking companies
- Experience recruiting across multiple corporate departments—not solely CDL drivers
- Experience recruiting management-level and leadership positions
Important: Candidates whose experience is primarily limited to CDL driver recruiting will not be considered.
Required Industry Knowledge
You should have a strong understanding of how a U.S. OTR trucking company operates, including hiring for:
- Dispatch
- Safety
- Compliance
- Operations
- Driver Recruiting
- Accounting
- Customer Support
- Human Resources
- Administration
- IT
- Fleet Operations
- Maintenance
- Department Management
Leadership Experience
We're looking for someone who has owned recruiting—not simply participated in it.
You should have experience:
- Building a recruiting department from the ground up
- Developing recruiting strategies
- Creating recruiting SOPs
- Designing interview systems
- Building hiring pipelines
- Managing recruiting operations
- Hiring department managers
- Helping build an organization's leadership team
- Making hiring decisions independently
- Reporting directly to an owner, CEO, or executive leadership
The ideal candidate has not relied on another Recruiting Manager for day-to-day recruiting decisions.
Required Skills
We're looking for someone with:
- Exceptional sourcing ability
- Strong interviewing skills
- Excellent written and verbal English communication
- Outstanding organization and time management
- Critical thinking and practical problem-solving
- High proficiency using modern AI tools
Technical Experience
Experience with:
- LinkedIn Recruiter
- LinkedIn Boolean Search
- Indeed
- Facebook Recruiting
- Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS)
- Google Workspace
- AI platforms such as ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, or similar tools
Experience That Does Not Qualify
Unfortunately, experience recruiting only for the following industries does not meet the requirements for this position:
- Straight trucks
- Box trucks
- Cargo vans
- Sprinter vans
- Hotshot carriers
- Courier companies
- Parcel delivery
- Food delivery
- Last-mile or final-mile delivery
- Moving companies
- Non-trucking logistics businesses
Candidates must have experience supporting Class 8 OTR dry van carriers operating throughout the continental United States.
Schedule & Availability
Candidates must:
- Live within approximately ±8 hours of the Central Time Zone
- Be able to work Monday–Friday, 6:00 AM–3:00 PM Central Time
- Be available to start within 4 weeks
- Have salary expectations within the posted compensation range
