Meadors Inc. has an opening for a Carpenter Helper to join our Estate Management and Maintenance Workshop. Meadors is a design-build firm located in Charleston, SC that specializes in custom high-end residential and light commercial work. We focus on both historic preservation/restoration and new construction. We are comprised of six workshops—Architecture, Construction, Conservation and Preservation Planning, Design Services, Cabinetry & Millwork, and Estate Management & Maintenance. Qualifications
- High School Diploma or General Education Degree
- Minimum of 1 year of high-end carpentry experience
- Must possess a valid driver’s license
- Have proper fundamental Carpenter tools
- Strong reading, writing, and speaking skills (in English)
- Comfortable using ladders and scaffolding
- Demonstrated ability to operate hand, air, and power tools
- Able to lift and move up to 50 lbs regularly
- Maintain tools and equipment in safe operating condition
- Install, maintain, and repair a variety of products, ranging from insulation to tile to drywall
- Perform work in accordance with safety and best practices
- Remove damaged or defective parts or sections of structures and repair or replace, using hand tools
- Document repairs and maintain thorough records
- Measure and mark materials for alterations
- Ability to speak to clients politely, and represent Meadors positively
