Job Summary
The General Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of Seymour's Cafe, ensuring exceptional customer service, maintaining food quality and safety standards, and leading a high-performing team. This role is responsible for driving sales, controlling costs, managing staff, and creating a positive dining experience for every guest.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee all daily café operations, including front-of-house and back-of-house.
- Hire, train, coach, and supervise managers, cooks, baristas, cashiers, and service staff.
- Create employee schedules and ensure adequate staffing during peak hours.
- Maintain high standards of food quality, cleanliness, and customer service.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and food sanitation regulations.
- Monitor inventory, order supplies, and manage vendor relationships.
- Control food and labor costs while maximizing profitability.
- Resolve customer concerns professionally and ensure guest satisfaction.
- Review sales reports, labor reports, and operating expenses to identify opportunities for improvement.
- Develop and implement strategies to increase sales and customer retention.
- Maintain company policies, procedures, and operational standards.
- Foster a positive, team-oriented work environment and lead by example.
Qualifications
- Management experience in a restaurant or café is preferred.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent communication and customer service abilities.
- Experience with scheduling, inventory management, and budgeting.
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and restaurant operations.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and make sound decisions under pressure.
- Proficiency with POS systems and basic computer applications.
- Must be available to work weekends and holidays.
