Join our dynamic team as a Commercial Driver's License (CDL) A Truck Driver and take charge of transporting freight across various routes with precision and professionalism. In this role, you will operate tractor-trailers and specialized vehicles such as refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, and roll-off trucks to deliver goods safely and efficiently. Your expertise in commercial truck driving, route navigation, and cargo handling will ensure timely deliveries while adhering to all safety and regulatory standards. Duties
- Safely operate tractor-trailers, including refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, and dump trucks, following all FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) and DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations.
- Navigate routes using GPS navigation systems to ensure timely deliveries across diverse locations.
- Load and unload freight manually or with equipment such as forklifts, ensuring proper handling of logistics cargo including hazardous materials and dangerous goods.
- Transport a variety of cargo types—automobile transportation, freight, hazardous materials—while maintaining compliance with hazardous materials regulations.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections on trucks and trailers to identify maintenance needs or safety issues.
- Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, delivery records, inspection reports, and incident documentation in accordance with DOT regulations.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch teams regarding route updates, delivery schedules, or any issues encountered during transit.
- Ensure proper securing of loads on flatbeds or tanker trucks to prevent shifting or damage during transit.
- Assist with truck loading/unloading processes at delivery sites while adhering to safety protocols.
- Follow all safety procedures related to manual handling, truck loading/unloading, and hazardous materials management to prevent accidents or violations.
Experience
- Proven experience in commercial truck driving with a valid CDL A license.
- Demonstrated ability to operate various types of trucks including tractor-trailers, flatbeds, tankers, roll-off trucks, dump trucks, and refrigerated trailers.
- Prior experience with route driving on over-the-road (OTR) routes preferred.
- Knowledge of FMCSA regulations, DOT compliance standards, and hazardous materials regulations required.
- Familiarity with GPS navigation systems for efficient route planning and execution.
- Experience in freight handling, load securing techniques including manual handling skills for cargo such as automobiles or logistics cargo.
- Ability to perform truck loading/unloading tasks safely using forklifts or manual methods when necessary.
- Strong understanding of safety protocols related to dangerous goods and hazardous materials transportation.
