Program Manager – IVC Virtual Program

The Ignatian Volunteer Corps (IVC) is a national, Jesuit-founded Catholic nonprofit organization that engages experienced adults (50+) in service to people experiencing poverty and marginalization. Through meaningful service, spiritual reflection, and community, IVC members deepen their faith, share their professional and life experience, and help build a more just society.
The Program Manager for the IVC Virtual Program plays a key role in advancing IVC's mission and expanding the Virtual Program's reach nationwide. Reporting to the Director of the IVC Virtual Program, this position combines recruitment, communications, relationship-building, and program administration. This is a meaningful opportunity for someone energized by Catholic social teaching, volunteer engagement, and organizational growth.
Primary Responsibilities
Recruitment of Service Corps Members
- Conduct recruitment efforts in targeted regions across the United States, including outreach to parishes, senior organizations, and community groups.
- Develop and distribute recruitment materials.
- Represent IVC through webinars, virtual information sessions, and networking opportunities.
- Research and implement innovative online recruitment strategies.
- Guide prospective members through the application and discernment process, including interviews, reference checks, and placement discussions.
Promotion of the IVC Virtual Program
- Maintain and update program databases and contact records.
- Collaborate with Jesuit university partners and nonprofit organizations to gather and share volunteer stories.
- Coordinate placement of articles, announcements, advertisements, and promotional materials in Catholic and community publications.
- Maintain Virtual Program social media and website content.
- Assist with promotion of events and special initiatives.
- Support the development and distribution of the quarterly newsletter.
- Create promotional and marketing materials as needed.
Program Administration and Member Engagement
- Research and cultivate relationships with nonprofit partner organizations.
- Support spiritual reflectors by ensuring they have the resources they need.
- Coordinate monthly spiritual gatherings and virtual programming.
- Onboard new members and provide ongoing support throughout the year.
- Invite and coordinate guest speakers.
- Maintain online database records of members, service sites, reflectors, and training.
- Meet regularly with Service Corps Members to support their engagement and learn about their service experiences.
- Participate in advisory council meetings with the Director.
- Assist with surveys and program assessments to evaluate member experience and program quality.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate is a motivated self-starter who can communicate IVC's mission enthusiastically and effectively to prospective volunteers and diverse audiences. The successful candidate will be highly organized, able to work independently, and comfortable building relationships in a virtual environment.
Qualifications include:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal and relationship-building abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities independently.
- Familiarity with the Catholic faith, Catholic social teaching, and ministry within Catholic communities.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, and PowerPoint.
- Experience in communications, marketing, public relations, volunteer management, or nonprofit programs is preferred.
Position Summary
- Full-time, remote position with flexible working hours.
- Salary range: $40,000–$50,000, commensurate with experience.
- Home office requires a professional workspace suitable for virtual meetings and secure recordkeeping.
- Travel required for one annual staff gathering.
