Job Overview
4Star Guidance, LLC is seeking a dedicated and experienced Care Director. This role involves providing program management and oversight for all Behavioral Health Programs, working alongside the Executive Director. A primary focus is on providing individual and group clinical supervision to licensed and unlicensed Direct Care Staff, ensuring all services meet clinical benchmarks for quality care and productivity in accordance with DMH standards and program contracts. The Care Director will be responsible for staff development, program planning, establishing clinical practice policy, case conferencing, and creating/reviewing treatment plans. Collaboration with other departments, especially in primary care settings for coordinated medical and behavioral care, is vital. Direct service to patients and clients may be required depending on the program.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide program management and oversight for all Behavioral Health Programs.
- Offer individual and group clinical supervision to licensed and unlicensed Direct Care Staff per DMH standards.
- Ensure proper care provision in accordance with program contracts and meet clinical benchmarks for quality and productivity.
- Develop and provide ongoing clinical and administrative staff development and program planning.
- Establish clinical practice policy, conduct case conferencing, and create/review treatment plans as needed.
- Coordinate care between medical and behavioral health departments, especially in primary care settings.
- Develop behavioral/mental health and child development protocols for BH Specialists, including guidance on short-term intervention and referrals.
- Provide behavioral/mental health consultation and develop Mental Health/Health Education materials for staff and Direct Care Providers.
- Collaborate with the Consulting Psychiatrist and Primary Care Providers on psychotropic medication management within the scope of practice.
- Administer necessary behavioral/mental health assessments for diagnosis and objective function measures as mandated by DMH.
- Train BH Specialists, Direct Care Staff, and other personnel on treatment protocols, assessment, interpretation, formulation, and clinical intervention strategies.
- Work with Billing, QA & I, and the Quality Assurance Program Specialist to develop and implement required behavioral/mental health Quality Assurance processes in compliance with Federal, State, County, and DMH requirements.
- Assess professional capabilities of Direct Care Staff and provide performance evaluations.
- Maintain records to meet DMH, State, and Federal clinical documentation requirements, including Medicaid funding sources.
- Provide short-term therapy for children/youth in individual, group, or family settings as needed.
- Coordinate and supervise behavioral/mental health services, including Child mental health contracts.
- Facilitate staff case coordination team meetings.
- Participate in and coordinate the conversion to Electronic Health Records for the Behavioral Health Department.
- Maintain confidentiality regarding privileged administrative and client information.
Qualifications
- License: Must be a fully Licensed LPC, LCSW, LMFT, or Licensed Psychologist.
- Experience: Must have adequate experience.
Competency: Must be clinically competent.
