MID-LEVEL LANDSCAPE ARCHITECT – PROJECT MANAGER POSITION
Position Summary
We are seeking a mid-level full-time Landscape Architect Project Manager to join our team in our Walnut Creek office. This individual will play a pivotal role in leading and supporting the design and execution of landscape architecture projects from concept through construction administration. This role combines strong design sensibility with project management, coordination, and client communication responsibilities. The ideal candidate is organized, collaborative, and capable of managing multiple projects while contributing creatively to design solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design and technical development of complex landscape architecture projects, ensuring adherence to project scope, budget, and schedule.
- Manage and direct multidisciplinary project teams, including coordinating with client ownership, architects, civil engineers, and other consultants.
- Develop high-quality construction documents, specifications, and cost estimates, performing quality control (QA/QC) reviews to ensure accuracy and compliance with standards and local codes.
- Conduct site analyses, perform construction observations, and resolve field issues (RFIs) during the construction phase.
- Engage directly with clients, governmental agencies, and public interest groups, including preparing and conducting presentations to secure project approvals and foster strong relationships.
- Provide mentorship and technical guidance to less experienced team members, supporting their professional development.
- Contribute to business development by assisting in the preparation of proposals for services, supporting company marketing efforts, and maintaining client relationships.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Landscape Architecture from an LAAB-accredited program.
- Minimum of 5-10 years of progressively responsible professional experience in a landscape architecture role, with experience in a supervisory or project management capacity.
- Proven expertise in designing with California-adapted and native plant materials.
- Advanced proficiency in industry-standard software, including AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign), Bluebeam Revu, SketchUp, and Microsoft 365 Suite.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex design ideas clearly to diverse stakeholders and consultant teams.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities, strong organizational skills, and meticulous attention to detail.
- Possession of a valid California Driver’s License.
