Responsibilities
- Safely operate a flatbed trailer on regional and over-the-road (OTR) routes.
- Comply with all FMCSA, DOT, and applicable state regulations.
- Secure, transport, and deliver freight safely and on schedule.
- Load and unload freight using appropriate equipment when required.
- Maintain accurate logs, inspection reports, bills of lading, and delivery documentation.
- Perform routine pre-trip and post-trip inspections and promptly report maintenance needs.
- Properly secure oversized or specialized freight in accordance with industry standards and safety regulations.
- Maintain professional communication with dispatch, customers, and shippers throughout each trip.
Qualifications
- Valid Class A CDL.
- At least 18 months (1.5 years) of verifiable commercial driving experience preferred.
- Experience operating flatbed trailers preferred.
- Strong knowledge of cargo securement, FMCSA regulations, and DOT compliance.
- Experience hauling construction equipment, machinery, steel, building materials, or oversized freight is preferred.
- Strong safety record and commitment to excellent customer service.
- Ability to pass required drug screening and background checks.
