OVERVIEW
Bedford Audubon seeks a dynamic team player to serve as a part-time Office Administrator. The role’s function is to support Bedford Audubon’s overall office activities.
THE ROLE
The Office Administrator reports to the Executive Director and works from Bedford Audubon’s office in Katonah, NY. The ideal candidate will be outgoing, organized, flexible, enjoy working with the public, and have a strong interest in nature, birds, and the environment. The role requires an ability to multitask, shift gears easily, and pitch in where needed. Specific tasks include:
● Answering phones and in-person inquiries at the office.
● Engaging in email communication with members.
● Managing office and property supplies needs.
● Working with Executive Director to manage billing and receipt of revenues.
● Maintain QuickBooks, interfacing with external CPA as needed.
● Data entry of program registrations, attendance, and volunteer hours in the organization’s CRM.
● Organizing and maintaining electronic and paper files in Bedford Audubon’s office and cloud server.
● Interfacing with contractors where needed.
● Helping prepare committee and board meeting materials
● Helping prepare monthly and annual internal and external reporting materials.
● Assisting in other office functions as needed.
DETAILS
● $20 to $25.00 per hour, depending upon experience.
● 20 hours per week starting. Can be flexible with specific times of day.
● At least one year of experience in a similar nonprofit role preferred. Previous experience with QuickBooks and at least one CRM system preferred.
● Bachelor of Arts degree preferred.
● Ability to lift at least 30 lbs.

ABOUT BEDFORD AUDUBON
Bedford Audubon’s mission is to promote the conservation and protection of birds and wildlife habitats in Northern Westchester & Eastern Putnam Counties through education, advocacy, nature study, and bird watching. This is done by engaging people in nature through local and regional bird walks, outdoor events, educational programs on birds, habitat, and native plants, and through citizen science, conservation, and select environmental advocacy.
Established in 1913, Bedford Audubon is one of the oldest National Audubon chapters in the country. It is headquartered at Bylane Farm, an historic 1700’s farmhouse located in Katonah, New York. Bedford Audubon owns and manages three nearby sanctuaries comprised of over 600 acres of forest, wetlands, scrubland, and meadows, along with 12 miles of hiking trails. It is a 501(c)(3) local nonprofit organization.
