Medical Scheduler – Primary Care
Location: Bluffton, SC
Employment Type: Full-Time
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Pay Range: $23.00 – $25.00 per hour
Position Overview
A busy primary care practice in Bluffton, South Carolina is seeking an experienced Medical Scheduler to support four primary care providers. This position is ideal for a candidate with strong knowledge of the local medical community who can efficiently coordinate referrals, authorizations, and specialty appointments while providing excellent patient service.
The ideal candidate will have previous medical office experience, strong organizational skills, and familiarity with specialists and healthcare providers throughout the Bluffton and surrounding areas.
Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of medical office experience required
- Previous referral coordination experience preferred
- Knowledge of local specialists, healthcare systems, and medical practices in the Bluffton area strongly preferred
- Experience obtaining pre-certifications and insurance authorizations
- Strong communication and multitasking skills
- Professional, patient-focused demeanor
- Experience with Epic EMR is a plus
Responsibilities
- Coordinate referrals for four primary care providers to specialists and ancillary services
- Obtain insurance pre-certifications and authorizations as needed
- Schedule specialist appointments and follow-up visits for patients
- Communicate with specialty offices, insurance companies, and patients regarding referral status
- Maintain accurate documentation in the EMR system
- Ensure timely processing of referrals and continuity of patient care
- Provide exceptional customer service to patients and providers
