This is a part-time role with an expected working schedule of Wed-Fri 9am-4pm. There may be some opportunity to pick up more hours as demand increases. This role is primarily a truck driving position but if there is not pickup demand to fill all working hours there will be an opportunity to fill working hours by helping around the store.
The ReStore Donation Ambassador is a well-rounded position assisting at ReStore with all donation responsibilities, including, but not limited to, pick up of merchandise from donors, unloading on-site donation drop-offs, cleaning, stocking the sales floor, pricing merchandise, and operating the cash register as needed.

About Habitat for Humanity ReStoreHabitat for Humanity ReStore is a nonprofit thrift store and donation center that sells new and gently used furniture, appliances, housewares, and building materials to the public. Proceeds help Habitat for Humanity of Wood County Ohio build and repair homes with low-to-moderate income families in the local community.
Position Requirements
- High School Diploma/GED preferred
- A valid drivers’ license with a good driving record
- Truck driving experience is desired, but not required
- A criminal background check is required
- Truck drivers must also pass a drug test

Position Duties and Responsibilities
Donation Truck
- Drive and/or ride in ReStore box truck to collect donations throughout the community
- Screen items for value and usability while professionally communicating with donors
- Load/Unload donated materials such as cabinets, appliances, furniture, building materials, boxed items, etc.
- Complete truck inventories and replenish items such as first aid supplies, safety materials, donor receipts, paperwork, tools and equipment, etc.
- Clean ReStore trucks of all merchandise and trash at the end of each workday
- Communicate with management to coordinate vehicle maintenance or cleaning
- Follow all Habitat regulations and state driving laws
Sales Floor
- Move, clean, and prepare merchandise for the sales floor
- Move, process, and load sold items for customers
- Assist donors with in-store donation drop-offs
- Assist with accurately pricing merchandise for the sales floor
- Maintain a working knowledge of existing and new products in the store
- Coordinate with other team members to organize and maintain store safety and cleanliness
- Complete occasional inventory counts and product organization projects outside normal business hour
Physical Demands: The ReStore Donation Ambassador must be able to lift a minimum of 70 lbs. and can spend much of the day standing/moving throughout the store. Work may require bending, kneeling, navigating steps, and reaching in awkward and tiring positions for extended periods of time.
