We are urgently seeking Welder/Fabricators. Duties include analyzing blueprints, welding jobs, maintaining production standards and producing consistently accurate work.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Performs production welding following the standardized work processes and quality procedures.
- Performs visual quality checks and takes appropriate action to correct defects.
- Performs complex dimensional layouts to complete products without fixtures
- Works under minimal supervision & guidance
- Prepares materials for welding, cuts, grinds, and cleans metal.
- Produces work daily that is consistently accurate.
- Provides feedback to supervisor on problems with the welding process.
- Must generate quality welds
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be required to frequently stand, sit, twist and use their hands, fingers and wrists to grip, twist and bend to operate controls. The employee will occasionally be required to walk, stoop, pull objects, kneel and climb stairs. The employee will be required to occasionally reach high and low and lift items weighing 35 to 75 lbs. Gross and fine motor skills required.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- 3+ years on the job weld experience
- Ability to set up weld machine to different types of materials
- Capability to TIG weld Aluminum
- Capability to GMAW weld all types of materials
- Ability to Flux core horizontal & vertical
- Ability to perform dimensional calculations
- Use all required measuring equipment. Tape Measure, Calipers, Protractor, Laser Level
- Create quality welds, identify poor welds (porosity, undercut, etc.) and know how to repair them
- Must be able to identify & resolve root cause of weld issues
- Must be able to assist in fixture design on specific products
- Ability to troubleshoot & recommend resolutions for fit up issues
- Ability to Grind welds and blend corners
- Ability to perform complex layouts with guidance
Weld Test:
Written test on AWS welding symbols. Practical fit and weld test based on an assembly drawing, including the fitting and welding of four small parts using MCAW. AWS D1.3 sheet steel qualification tests for fillet, flare bevel, and square grooves. This involves a total of seven small weld tests, which can be performed using either MCAW or GMAW.
