Job Summary
The Clinic CMA or LPN Works collaboratively with a multidisciplinary care team to provide care across the continuum for all patients. The CMA or LPN, focus efforts on patient outreach and coordination of care to achieve optimal outcomes and promote wellness. The Clinic CMA or LPN rooms patients, identifying any preventive care needs, assists provider with procedures and treatments, completes a variety of tasks including but not limited to injections, phone triage, patient education, vital signs, chart documentation, population health, quality improvement initiatives and supply management.
Duties / Responsibilities
- Room patients and prepares them for examination, treatments or procedures.
- Makes phone calls for: triage, communication, coordination of care, prescription requests, etc.
- Checks and documents vital signs.
- Documents appropriately in the EMR and on paper forms as required.
- Assists the provider during procedures and perform the following: ear, eye, and wound irrigations, vision and hearing checks, removal of sutures, apply Unna boots, change dressings, remove casts, catheterize patients, take throat and wound cultures, etc.
- Provides patients with instructions and educational materials, as directed by RN or provider.
- Schedules patients and providers for special procedures/tests.
- Gives injections to patients of all ages.
- Transports patients to hospital or care center.
- Documents patient information and data per protocol.
- Cleans and stocks exam rooms.
- Cleans medical equipment.
- Maintains and organizes work area.
- Follows clinic policies.
- Maintains strictest confidentiality.
- Assists team members as needed.
- Participates in quality improvement initiatives.
- Performs other related tasks as assigned.
Education / Experience
- Certified Medical Assistant
- Graduate of Licensed Practical Nursing School.
- Holds a current and unrestricted LPN License with Minnesota Board of Nursing.
- Previous clinic experience preferred but not required.
Knowledge / Skills / Abilities
- Ability to communicate (verbal and written) effectively and professionally with clients of all ages, co-workers, practitioners and administrator.
- Professional telephone etiquette.
- Ability to work well within a team.
- Detail oriented.
- Good time management skills.
- Computer skills and knowledge of EMR.

Pay: $21.00 - $33.00 per hour
