Brief Description of Role
We are seeking a Middle and Upper School Social Studies Teacher to join our team of excellent educators. The MS/US Social Studies Teacher will collaborate with teachers, students, and administrators to deliver an excellent academic experience aligned with the school’s mission and to create a collaborative, respectful learning environment. Our ideal candidate will create a safe, positive, and engaging learning environment where students can grow academically, socially, and emotionally. The teacher will deliver instruction aligned with state and National Standards in Social Studies, support diverse learners, and foster a love of learning and report directly to the Principals of HBHA. This will be a part-time position.
Responsibilities
- Design and deliver engaging Social Studies lessons aligned with curriculum standards in grades 6-12.
- Facilitate hands-on learning experiences, experiments, and design challenges
- Encourage creativity, collaboration, and inquiry-based learning
- Differentiate instruction to meet diverse student needs and learning styles
- Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback
- Maintain a safe, organized, and inclusive classroom environment
- Collaborate with classroom teachers, administrators, and support staff
Qualifications
- Education degree, Gifted Education background preferred, and teaching license preferred

Working Conditions & Physical Demands
Physical demands include dexterity for office machine/supply operation, including but not limited to computers, telephones, copy machines, facsimiles, and printers. Stooping, bending, reaching for files or supplies, and sitting or standing for extended periods is common.
